Nuclear Fission and Fusion Steels Conference

Thursday 11th October 2012 at 09.00 - 16.30
The United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority and supported by The Central England Branch of the Nuclear Institute are jointly organising a "Business Opportunities for UK plc from Fusion & ITER" event at Culham Science Centre. The objective of this event is for UK companies to understand the procurement process and procurement opportunities that are arising from the construction of the International Tokamak Experimental Reactor (ITER) which is being built at Cadarache, France at a cost of over 12 BEuros. ITER will take 10 years to build and will require conventional and also specialist engineering expertise.

Programme
The event will provide ideal opportunity for UK companies seeking to enter fusion/ITER programme along with an opportunity for pre-registered companies to have 1:1 meeting with the Commercial Team from ITER-IO and from F4E. Tours of the accessible areas will also be available for pre-registered individuals to see JET (Europe's flagship programme and the world's largest fusion reactor) and MAST (UK's own fusion reactor) in which UK industry has played a big role. Please view the event PROGRAMME.

‘Nuclear Institute - Central England Branch - Annual Dinner’
The Central England Branch of the Nuclear Institute will be holding its Annual Dinner on the evening of the 11th October commencing around 19:30 at the Oxford Spires Four Pillars Hotel. Professor Sir David King, Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment will provide the after dinner speech - “Confusion around global debt and global energy”.
